In the heart of the picturesque alleys of the old FAYENCE is an old communal bread oven.

Built in 1522 under the bishop of Fréjus, Nicolas de Fiesque, this oven was saved from demolition in 1997 by the Fayençois.

Thanks to the association "Les Amis du Four du Mitan", helped by the General Council and the Municipality, it has been restored and transformed into a Museum with a reconstruction of a scene.

Thus, this venerable oven, impressive by its size, tells its astonishing and unusual story, with characters in costume from 1897 and surrounded by all the objects of the time.

Open every day from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Free entrance
